My son wants to adopt his girlfriends 3 year old son. The childs father is deceased, and my son is not married to his mother. can he still adopt him?

Yes he could adopt the boy, but before he makes a lifelong commitment to the boy, he should consider whether he will make a similar commitment to the girl friend. The boy does not need to be at risk to lose a second father figure...
