Aunts abillity to obtain custody

I have a nephew who has lived with us for three years and the mother only saw him on weekends. she has recently taken him back two months ago. from that time on he has been put in terrible daycares and watched by people we dont know. his doctor would write a stayment saying he was better with us and much healthier. but I want to know if it would be hard to get custody about how much it would cost and if it was even possible. she is devorced and the dad hasnt seen him in three years. he is like a son to me and she is wreckless with her childs well being. I also have several people speak on my behalf in ex. his old school mountain land head start his old daycare and several close friends and family. please help. I dont want something to happen to him thanks

Re: Aunts abillity to obtain custody

You will need to file a complaint with the Department of Family and Child Services closest to you. If they substantiate any of the allegations of abuse, you can file a petition for custody and guardianship in the district juvenile court. Contact a local attorney for the costs.
