Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Bifurcation procedures?
What is tyhe procedure for Bifurcation of a divorce in UT?
How do I word it? I have the understanding it could be in a stipulation. Would the statement say Both parties agree to Bifurcate the divorce and have agreed on a temporary support amount above the current support amount?
I seek to Bifurcate the divorce but have found no statutes that relate to it. I just understand the state does accept and sign them. What is the procedure and how would I word it. Would it be a motion to bifurcate or should it be in a stipulation agreement?

Re: Bifurcation procedures?
Bifurcation is an inherent power of the court. It can be granted by motion or by stipulation of the parties. Generally in a divorce the divorce is granted with the bifurcation or close to it, reserving the remaining issues for later trial (or settlement).
