Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Breach of Promise law
I am looking to clarify if I have any recorse for a broken promise of marriage, I moved to Utah because the person I was to marry has a business there, I transfered with my job, left my friends and paid for the entire move. Not only did we not marry but he caused me tremendous emotional distress. I have moved back to Chicago and after a year he is continuing to contact me and is now suing me for $1150.00 for furniture. Now this man is worth 2-4 Million if we had married my life sure would be alot different. What leagally can I do, if anything?

Re: Breach of Promise law
Sue him for breach of promise, including you actual out of pocket expenses as you can prove; plus for emotional distress...
