How many years can I go back and collect 1/2 of child care expense

It depends on the facts. If the parent had timely notice of the charges, most judges will go quite a number of years; if the other parent did not have notice, then not very far back.

Depending on what your decree says, the current statute may bar you from seeking reimbursement further back than thirty days if you haven't provided him with proper and adequate notice of the identity of the day care provider and the cost of the day care. If you've given him all of the necessary information, you can go back and collect one-half of the total child care cost.
