Child Custody

I need the birth father of my son to sign over rights to me so that my fiance can adopt him. What paperwork needs to be done, and do I need a lawyer.

A petition for a step parent adoption needs to be filed, along with a waiver from the birth father. there are some technical requirements, which an attorney can make sure get performed. You may call for a free consultation.

Unless you know what you're doing, it can be fairly complicated and generally it is a good idea to have an attorney represent you.
