Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Child Support over 18?

My daughter is turning 18 in 2 months in UT, which is where I now live. Our divorce was in NV, and stated support until the age of 18. My daughter has dropped out of H.S. and won't get a job, and my Ex is insisting that I pay support AFTER she turns 18 because she won't allow our daughter to grow up. My Ex wants to keep her at home and for me to continue child support and is even threatening me with court action. Can she do this to me when we already agreed that at 18 support would stop?

Re: Child Support over 18?

Pay to her 18th birthday. If she is not in school with mothers approval then you have no further liability. You may need a court order if your are paying through ORS.
