child support

please explaine joint custody and how it works.

my ex and i have joint custody and she has phy. custody yet my two son live with me close to 75% of the time and go to school in the town i live in. when the divorce was done we figured child support at me having the kids two days a week would i be able to cut the cost of support now that i have them more.

Joint custody means both parents share in the responsbility for the care and decision making on behalf of the children. Child support is calculated based on the incomes of each parent and the time spent with each parent. If you now have more time with the children than at the time of the divorce, chances are that your support payments would be lowered. There is an official table which is used to calculate support.
