Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Beyond Child Support
My husband & his Ex have Joint Custody of their 2 children. The children spend 50% of the time with us. She is constantly asking him to pay for extra things, at her whim.
Most recently, now that one child is in Middle School with the option to purchase school lunch, she says he ''legally'' has to pay half of the cost of school lunches.
He believes she should pay for it. That he is paying her child support and things like this are included in the child support amount that he pays each month.
What do you say?

Re: Beyond Child Support
The court order spells out what your husband needs to pay to his ex. Typically: child support; 50% of unpaid medical expense and day care costs. I have never seen an order regarding school lunches costs. That would normally be considered part of child support.
