Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Child Support prior to divorce is final
Temp order says we share daughter 50/50 which we have done for a year. I am going to allow ex sole custody. We agree on the Utah minimum for visitation. We agreed to begin this prior to school starting for more stability for the child. The divorce is not final and won't be for at least 2 months when we go to court. should I also begin paying child support although it isn't court ordered? I pay out a lot of money for her necessities, school clothes, supplies, medical, etc. I feel ex and I are sharing costs equally but am I better off to stop and just start paying child support I will be paying when it's final? I don't want to until I have to because I am and have contributed equally for the child. Thank you for your time. It's been two weeks since we started the new visitation schedule.

Re: Child Support prior to divorce is final
It is reasonable to begin paying child support since the other spouse will have a specific amount of money to count on.
