Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Child Support
My wife and I have been going through a very slow divorce for a year and a half. I cannot afford legal services at this time. Our three children live with me and I recieve no financial help from my wife to support the children. What can I do to force her to pay some kind of child support until the divorce proceedings can take place? Having to support the children without help from her is part of the reason I can't afford legal services. I'm kind of trapped. Thank you.

Re: Child Support
You should file and Order to Show Cause why she should not be ordered to pay child support, including back child support. This presumes that she is earning an income. The child support amout is set by published schedules and depends on your income and the income from your wife.
