I had a child out of wedlock the child is now 21/2 yrs old he(the father) has seen her twice. I need to know what I need to do to get him to sign over all rights. So my fiance could legally adopt her. I have never received any support from him or have any contact with him.

Re: child

You might be able to show that the father abandoned the child, and be able to proceed with the step parent adoption. You may call for a free consultation.

Re: child

If he has never had contact with the child and has not paid any support, you may actually file a petition with the court to terminate his parental rights. Also, if he is willing to voluntarily relinquish his rights, he may do so if your fiance is will to adopt her.
