Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
children afraid of father and stepmom
I am a single mother of 2 (5 and 2), We rushed through the parenting plan because I knew I would live at least 12 hours from my ex I thought he would not be involved, He only calls 1-2 times a month to talk to the children. Last time they went to visit which is usually every 4-5 months for 2-3 days he hit them both for crying for me (says the 5 year old) They are both afraid to go back and visit. What can I do to protect my children without costing 1000's of dollars. My ex husband does have a history of ex wives and children that he has reliquished rights toalong with restraining orders. He also has a lot of money. Do I have to let them go with their father? Please help.

You can seek a modification of the current Orders. I can explain the procedures better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.
As far as costs, please know that our fees vary depending on your circumstances and needs. We charge $200 to $225 per hour, and typically require between $800.00 and $3,000.00 as a retainer/prepayment.
Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Alicia to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.
