Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Court order

My boyfriend's ex (common law marriage) just told him he can't see their daughter (3 yrs. old) anymore. How long does it take--name removed--get a court order so he can get visitation? In the past, he has watched his daughter four or five days every week after work while his ex worked late and basically was her babysitter - she has even remarried. Now that he says he wants--name removed--go on at least a minimum visitation schedule, she's very angry because now it won't be according--name removed--her schedule. In fact, in the past, he has even watched her step daughter at the same time because he is such a nice guy, but is tired of being taken advantage of and wants some father's rights.

Re: Court order

The length of time can vary depending on facts which I do not know. But if he wants to protect his parental rights he must immediately take some action. Have him call for a free consultation.
