Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My daughter is a 24 year old unwed mother of an 8 month old girl. The birthfather has not supported her in any way financially and is now threatening to take the child away from her. Does he have any rights? Could this happen?

She should immediately get a court order that gives her custody, sets child support and gives him reasonable visitation - if he is a safe father. Threats rarely reflect reality, but are used to intimidate someone else.
