Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Day care Question

I have four children ages 14,12,10 and 7. As law states I am required to pay for daycare expenses of these children. During the school season we have no expenses as they are all in school. In the summer my Ex-wife pays the two oldest children to watch the younger children and then send me the bill to pay for half. Is this leagal? If I do not pay for half what would a judge say about it. Also can she drop the younger two off at a baby sitters when we have two older children who can watch them?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Day care Question

If your ex wife is actually paying the children, and the amount is reasonable, and if they are capable and competent, why would you not agree to pay them something for their efforts? They could refuse to watch their siblings, and your ex could take them to day care. Would you prefer that? You also argue that you don't want her to drop the younger children off at a day care instead of your older children - it seems to be all about the money. That is about what a judge would say.
