Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Debt Division

If my spouse is ordered to take responsibility for all debts, even the debts solely in my name, and then he files bankruptcy (Chapter 7), is there any way to protect myself from the creditors? Everything I've read sofar says the creditors can still come after me.

I'm mainly referring to credit card debt, as my spouse had stolen my credit cards and left me with the bill. Please help!

Re: Debt Division

the creditors can come after you. it is up to you to go after your wife for the money. whether you can or not under BK law depends on the wording of the divorce order.
