Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

deceased fiance

my fiance was killed in an accident one month ago. since then, his mother has had all of his mail forwarded to her home, which includes all of the utility bills, insurance info, etc. His name is on the bills because he has lived in our home for 25 years. I moved in 8 years ago. what steps do I need to take to prove ''common law'' and to be awarded power-of-attorney? I need to have it done as quickly as possible as I am afraid that his mother is going to try to take everything from our home. Please help me!!!

Re: deceased fiance

You need to open probate and apply to be the personal representative. You then become the responsible person for his estate. You may call for a free consultation.
