Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

department of child and family services in Utah

My child was interviewed and did disclose the abuse at which point I was told that there would be an investigation. They told me that I would have full access to all of the records concerning the investigation. They have since closed the investigation stating that she needs to be in counseling to see if she would disclose more- (which she has disclosed MUCH more than that now!). Now they have denied my request of documents! How do I appeal this to get the documents that we need? My daughters counselor needs it to see if she's disclosed more... my lawyer needs it as well. Opposing counsel and the guardian ad litem has it- we are the only ones without it!

If you have an attorney, he/she should know how to obtain the documents. If not, then perhaps you should consider retaining a new attorney.
