can i get my posesions back if my wife threw them away and filed for divorce when i was in jail

Only if you can find out where she threw them away and can go get them there. You can sue her for the value of those goods or negotiate with her as a part of the divorce settlement.

If the items have been disposed of, they're not going to be returned, unless your ex-wife knows where they are. If so, the court could make her give those to you. Much depends on what your decree says.
