Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Are divorce proceedings public record?

A friend has just divorced. The friend has said that some things were said by the ex that may have reflected poorly upon my wife. I want to know what was really said. Are divorce proceedings public record? What information can be requested about a divorce?

Re: Are divorce proceedings public record?

Everythings said in hearings and at trial are recorded, and the tapes can be obtained fairly easily by aniyone willing to go to the trouble and pay the modest fees. There are also written records which can be accessed at the clerk's`office by the public.
