Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

If I get divorced before the birth of my baby, does my ex-husband have any legal custody or visitation rights? I want to prevent that because he is abusive.

If you are divorced at the time the baby is born, you do not need to list a father on the birth certificate. Until there is a court order the father does not have any rights of visitation. It is then the duty of your ex to file for a paternity declaration. He would then have to pay child support.
