Re: emancepation
If you and your boyfriend marry, ad/or on your motion to the district court youcan be declared "emancipated" and will thereafter be considered an adult.
I suggest, however, that for the sake of your child that you both consider adopting the baby out to a stable committed two parent home. You both are very young to assume the responsibility of a new baby. At a minimum you should consider some counseling in regards to the child and your relationship. If your boyfriend will not marry you, then you should absolutely consider giving up the baby - because the baby deserves the best chance for a good life. I am grateful to the mother of our oldest child, who was in your exact circumstances and gave up her first born. We raised him knowing he was adopted. He just opened communication with his birth mother - he is appreciative of her having the courage to adopt him out. His birth mother is now very successful, but still thinks she made the right choice 30+ years ago. Good luck. Call if you want to talk.
