Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

fake financial information

When calculating child support the mother of my step children has repeatedly sumbitted falsisfied tax forms. The court ordered her to sign a release so that the attorneys involved can see her true earnings according to social security. She won't do it. Is there anyway to find out her actual earnings without an extensive court battle. She has recieved bonuses and runs at least two businessed from her home as well has having a rental property.

Re: fake financial information

Your attorney should know how to compel this information. She is in contempt of court and the court can order her to cooperate or face sanctions.

Re: fake financial information

Subpoena all of her records from her employer, bank accounts, etc. If the court has ordered her to produce documentation and she refuses, you should take her to court and ask that she be held in contempt. The court will, in all likelihood order that she pay your attorney's fees if it become necessary to seek the court's assistance.
