Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Family, adoption law

I live in New Jersey. I have a daughter that was placed into foster care in Utah 10 years ago and she was adopted by the foster family. I lost all parental rights at that time. Recently, my daughter ran away from that home and has made contact with me. She wants me to see if I can adopt her or get her back due to the alleged molestation by her adopted father. She is currently staying with her boyfriend in Utah and wants me to try to get her back because she does not want to go back to the home she was living in, can I do that?

Re: Family, adoption law

I would suggest that you seek the advice of a Utah attorney immediately. Direct contact by telephone to the attorney, rather than anonymous questions through Law Guru would be the best route, since it seems that time is of the essence. You should be able to find a Utah attorney through Law Guru. Good luck! Rob Gleaner

You can ask for custody in New Jersey

based the molestation and the best interest of the child, assuming that what she says is true.

Call me if you like.
