If my husband dies before me, does half of our assests go to his children from his first marriage before I die?

You should get a trust agreement between you and your husband which sets forth how you both want your assets to pass to your heirs. A trust can separate out how assets are divided as you and your husband may agree. You may call for a free consultation.

The answer to your question is yes. However, if you and he own your home in joint tenancy you would get it free and clear of any claim by any of his heirs.
