Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Can I file for Custody without a lawyer?
I live in Washington, Utah and I have talked to my ex and we have agreed on the custody and support of my son. We were never married and don't need to file for divorce, just custody. I have found the documents that I need to file. Can I file with court without having a lawyer? And where do I file?

Re: Can I file for Custody without a lawyer?
You can file in St George at the District Court. You need to file a document "Petition to Establish Paternity and to Establish Visitation" which is your request to have the court find you are the father. In conjunction with that filing you will request the visitation on which you have agreed. You will also have to establish and pay child support.
You can do that yourself without an attorney. Consult with the following website for more information: http://www.utcourts.gov/
