Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

my girlfriend and I are breaking up we have a 2 year old daughter and she (girl friend)wants to change our daughters name to her (girl friend) last name, I don't want to do this. can she do it with out me knowing about?

If you are named on the birth certificate she should give you notice. You should also file for custodial rights so you can keep your relationship with your daughter. Without a court order she can deny visitation.
