Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
My girlfriend's 14 yr old daughter left to go live with her father, and now wants all her things. Most of the larger things were birthday and christmas gifts, but my girlfriend does not want to give them to her. Does a minor legally own these? Can my girlfriend do what she wants with them? i.e sell, give away, throw away?

If things were given to the daughter, then yes, they are her property. I can't really imagine why your girlfriend wouldn't want to give her daughter her belongings.

The daughter is entitled to her personal belongings. Girlfriend has no right to them and can be sued to compel her to turn them over to the daughter.
