Guardianship
Can you detail for me the process and estimated costs for giving guardianship of my 16 year old son to a close friend in Utah so he can finish high school there?

It is impossible to give you the details of the process here. You can check the GA code at http://www.legis.state.ga.us/cgi-bin/gl_codes_detail.pl?code=1-1-1 "Guardian and Ward" are in code sections 29-1-1 et seq. Having said that, the process is that you file a petition in the probate court of your county to have your friend appointed as guardian. The clerk of your probate court can give you more information.
