Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Please help.
I am the legal father of my wife's (now our) children.
About 1 year ago my children's biological father willingly signed away his rights and gave up them up for adoption to me. We have been very happy and have built a wonderful life.
Recently the biological father has contacted my wife about financial things dealing with their divorce, during that call he made what sounded like a threat to us..... he said he would soon get the kids back. Is there anyway that he can legally get any right back? He said he would not discuss how he plans to do so but that is would happen soon.
This raises fear in hour hearts that he (or his family) might try abducting them. We have seen his family driving past our house frequently. I have approached them and told them to stop. We would also like to know what we can do to protect our family. We have considered a protective order and are thinking we will pursue that route soon.
We just want our children to live happy healthy childhoods and not have to worry about someone who decided he didn't want to share the responsibility of being a parent.

Once the children have been adopted the adoption cannot be set aside except for fraud by those involved in the adoption. (I.e., some one forges the consent documents.)
The court will not revisit a divorce settlement unless it was unconscionable or there was fraud (failure to disclose assets)
This man has no rights to the children. You can get a stalking injunction if he continues to harass you.
