Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

holiday interpretation of visitation schedule

Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday. Utah visitation schedule says Thanksgiving visitation for non-custodial parent begins at 7 pm on Wednesday. I have a lawyer hassling me about handing my child over on Tuesday after school lets out. School lets out early Tuesday due to parent/teacher conferences, not for the holiday which is specified on Wednesday. Whose job is it to definitively set times on holiday visits?? I am the custodial parent in this situation. Thanks!

Re: holiday interpretation of visitation schedule

The language in the decree controls. If the decree is not specific, or does not state a time, then the code sets the time, which would be Wed PM. Note, be careful to not make the child(ren) pawns. Consider attending a high conflict parent planning class. Call the 3rd District Court in SLC for more information.
