Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My husband is verbally abusive and addicted to marijuana. He smokes every day and gets extremely irritable and aggressive if he cannot obtain it. I have recently filed a report at the police station because he did not let me and my 1 year-old son into the house on a 15F day. He also held his fists at my face and called me names. He loves his child but acts irrationally when he is frustrated. I am thinking about filing for a divorce, however, I do not want to share parenting rights with him. I think he is a good dad when he is in a good mood but I would not feel comfortable having a set day for my son to visit his dad because he is so unpredictable. What are my chances of getting a full custody of a child?

My husband has a full time job, I, currently, stay at home with a child.
