Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

The ex husbands fiance

Can I keep my ex husbands fiance away from my son? She has hit him in front of the children and is constantly bad mouthing me to others. I confronted her about the things she said and she completely denied it. I reall do not care to have this kind of person around my child. Can I get a restraining order?

Re: The ex husbands fiance

You can attempt to get a restraining order, but it is not likely to stick unless you have seen her hit the boy, and there are no mitigating circumstances. You should consider mediation with your ex to establish some common parenting rules. Get those in writing and signed by them. If they are violated you may be able to restrict visitation or have only supervised visitation.
