Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

International Relocation

I have sole physical custody of my 6 year old daughter, and we are trying to move to England to be with my fiancee, and get married. To get a visa I need a notarized letter from my ex (which he wont do) or something in my divorce/custody papers saying the court allows me to move and settle there. I am attempting to do this myself as to save money. But I can't find a single form or bit of information on how to proceed. I gave my ex 60 days notice back in February of our intended move and he has done nothing to challenge it. But I can't get the fiancee visa without a change to the custody. If anyone can offer any help at all it would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Re: International Relocation

You will have to get a court order to force the signature. Ex wants to get some verification that he will have visitation rights before daughter leaves. He might file for custody himself. You should plan on going to court.
