Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Lawyer ending

I have had a divorce lawyer for the past two years who has been working on my case. Their are complications since my husband owns a business and won't cooperate. All of a sudden I received a letter saying she wasn't going to be my lawyer anymore. I received this after my husband's lawyer had already received the letter and had went down to the courts to say that I have to find a lawyer within 20 days or my case is void. Is this legal or even ethical for my lawyer to do and what can I do?

Re: Lawyer ending

The rules of civil procedure require you to obtain a new lawyer or enter your own appearance within 20 days of notice. You should get another attorney as soon as possible. Your former attorney must provide your file to you for the new attorney. You former attorney may withdraw as long as the withdrawal will not substantially prejudice your case.
