Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
How long would a bifurcation for divorce take when there is little to no joint assets and the couple has been separated for over a year? There are children in the marriage, but that is going to be handled in court later.

Courts rarely grant bifurcation until the child custody issues are resolved. If there is a custody dispute that cannot be resolved, the court uses the refusal to grant bifurcation to encourage settlement.
