Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

How long before divorce ''expires''

Spouse filed for divorce in Sept - 8 months ago. Mediation failed. Temp court order for custody (50/50) in place and has been for 5 months. I provided stipulation to him a couple weeks ago to get this settled. He rejected it via email to me. I asked him to go through our lawyers. How long does he have to respond? Does his answer to me via email count as valid refusal? How long do I have to wait to get this into court? How long does the filing for divorce remain effective from filing date? I don't want to have to start over because it's being dragged out and the original filing expires. How long is the temp order in effect? Thanks love this site.

Why haven't you asked your lawyer this question? If he does nothing and you do nothing eventually the court will dismiss the matter. Since mediation was unsuccessful, and he rejected your settlement, the next step is to finish discovery and schedule the matter for trial.
