Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

How long should it take?

We hired an attorney to represent our daughter in Utah for a child custody matter in July 2007. She ONLY spoke with him once. Case was turned over to a law clerk. She went to one hearing only. They will not return our calls or e-mails. I paid 2500 and never got a receipt or itemized bill. The only person we can get in contact with is a paralegal who states I don't have to tell you anything. There were 2 hearings scheduled. Opposing council never attended the first and was then in contempt. @nd was scheduled the next day to throw out the divorce decree BUT our daughters attorney canceled that one and no reset. That was over one month ago. This seems excessive to me and we feel helpless.

You should hire another attorney and file a bar complaint against your current attorney. You may call for a free consultation.
