Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

I have been mailed an "order granting motion to amend verified petition", "notice of appearance of counsel" and a "Motion to amend amended verified petition". can i file to get an extension to seek my own legal advice?

Can this stuff be mailed or should it be sent by certified mail?

It can be mailed. You have 20 days to get your own attorney or file your own appearance. The court granted the other party the right to amend their petition. Once you are served with the petition you have 20 more days to answer it.

You can file a motion for an extension of time to get your own attorney. Send the original to the court and a copy to the other attorney. You must however continue to watch the time lines. Unless you are granted an extension by an order of the court you are responsible for all case activity.
