Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Marital Property
My sister has had 2 rental homes for about 6 years prior to the marriage of her last husband. Now that they are getting divorced he wants ''equity'' that established in the homes for the 2 years they were married. He never made house payments (they stayed rented) or contributed to anything as far as the homes were concerned, this was all taken care by her. Does he have a legal chance to obtain equity in her rentals? They never lived in them, and purchased a home between them.

Re: Marital Property
The properties were premarital properties, and if she kept the accounting for them separate from their marital funds, he has no claim on them. She may call for a free consultation.
