Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Medical Coverage

In my divorce agreement it states the respondent is to maintain medical coverage. The children live out of state where his insurance is not valid. In the agreement it states that any costs not covered under insurance shall be shared equally by the parents. My insurance does not pay for certain things. Does this mean even though he is paying for coverage in another state he is still responsible to pay half of the medical bills?

Re: Medical Coverage

If the insurance does not pay for a medical service, then the parents split the cost, regardless of reason. You may want to get your own insurance on the children and ask the court to have the ex pay for half of the cost.
