Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

non-married child custody/visitaion with molestation consideration

My fiancee left us when my son was 9 months old and is now suing for joint legal custody. My son turned 1 yr old last week and I am very concerned about the father taking him unsupervised as he molested his sister for 5 years and now has 2 children,7 and 4, from a previous marriage, that have been molested, supposedly not by him. the 2 children have cases through CPS but there was never anything filed against him. I am now living in Texas with my parents as I have been unemployed and he left me with no money. I would appreciate any advice on how to prepare for court and what my chances are to get sole custody with supervised visitation, or what I can ask for as I will have to represent myself. thank you

You need to go to your local law library and read. I recommend reading the Texas Family Code and the Texas Family Practice Manual.

Good luck!
