Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

How do I get my ex to pay his share of out of pocket medical expenses

I was informed by recovery services that I needed to get a judgment in order for them to pursue my ex for the money he should pay for the out of pocket medical expenses. I was wondering what is the minimum I can get a judgment for, and how do I go about getting a judgment. What kind of paperwork do I need to submit that shows amount owing? Will explanation of benefits work or does it have to be a statement from the Physician?

Thank you

Your divorce decree should require your ex to pay for his half. If so, then file a request for an order to show cause why the ex should not be subject to a judgment for the medical expenses in the divorce court under the case number of the divorce. OR file a complaint in small claims court. You will need to ask for judgment of the medical expenses (using the bills) and for the ex's share of future bills. While you are in court consider changing anything else that needs to be done.
