Legal Question in Family Law in Utah
Not sure if this is the right place.. but please help?
I'm 17 years old. I live with my mother in Utah. I have an older boyfriend. He turned 22 a couple weeks ago. My mother knows about him, thinks he's a great guy, and approves of us dating. We spend every waking moment together. He's already part of my family..
Well.. now I think i'm pregnant. My boyfriend is excited. He couldn't be happier. He's talking all this talk about marriage and raising our baby together. He's bouncing off the walls with excitement.. and don't get me wrong.. I'm not exactly disappointed.
But one thought crossed my mind.. and I need some advice. Could my mother turn him in for statutory rape? Keep him away from me and the baby, even after she gave us her blessing to date. I mean.. now that there could be a child involved, is there any way to protect my boyfriend from that?

It is a little late to be worrying about that now isn't it? You are very young to be pregnant. It is time for you to focus on the future of your baby. Try to figure out what is in the child's best interest - not your interest or the boyfriend, but just for the child.
