Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

I am getting ready to go to trial for custody which is looking very promising in my favor, however I just got in a huge fight with my current husband and one of his children, in which my husband held me and would not let me go or have my phone. I sent my 10 year old to get the neighbor. He never did hurt me and I know he would never hurt my children. I am thinking about getting separated. The trial is in February. Could this affect my custody if my ex finds out?
