Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Rights of a single mother

I am pregnant but do not want the father of the child involved in my life or that of our child. Am I required to name the father on the birth certificate in Utah? What other custody issues should I be aware of?

You are not required to ID the father. However, if father finds out he has 6 months to petition for custody.

Be aware that it is a disadvantage for your child to be raised in a single parent home. You may want to consider adoption. Call me for a free consultation, if you are interested.
