Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

if I am seeking a divorce in the state of Utah and I recieved a settlement for taking a percribed medication in July 2009 my husband has gone through all the money buying 4 wheeler's, and trailers (2) tools, tool box, paid his payroll for his painting business, paid esitmated taxes for a year, paid off his work van, and misc other things. Would I be able to get him to pay me back that money or am I just sol? All these items that he purchased he has registered in his name only. We did buy a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee This I understand we needed a new car, but he also registered it in his name only.

The money you received was your separate money. He had not legal right to it. In the divorce process you should be able to recover some or all of the money or stuff that was purchased. Money from inheritances, court judgments, and other similar sources is not part of the marital estate (marriage).

You may call for a free consultation.
