Sole Cutody of Child
My daughter wants to gain sole custody of her child and currently lives in Mississippi. The father lives in Salt lake City, Utah. Do we need to obtain a attorney in Utah or Mississippi ??

Your daughter will need to seek a modification from the court that has continuing jurisdiction. This court will most likely be where she obtained the divorce. I would add however, the differences in joint custody (with physical custody) and full custody are minimal and many judges are reluctant to grant full custody without a very compelling reason. Also, the visitation would likely remain unchanged, joint or full custody, as long as it is working.
