Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My son keeps telling me that his dad screams at him and hurts him. My ex has a violent temper, one reason I divorced him. Since my ex wants to appear the victim and has learned how to manipulate the law, how do I know when to file a protective order for my son that will stick?

You need to report the abuse to DCFS immediately and file a protective order with the courts as soon as possible. If you don't report the abuse, you could be investigated by DCFS for failure to protect and end up having the state take custody of your son.
